This one came about in response to a challenge to write the answer to the question, "Would you want to go to the fictional, Gor (Prof John Lange, writing as John Norman), even if it meant you would be a slave?", as a Dr Suess style poem. Who am I to back down from a challenge!?
Would I, could I, in a collar?
No siree! I'd fight and holler!
Not for a ride on silver ship,
Nor wonders of a Sardar trip.
Not even for a tarnback ride,
Or sailing Thassa's august tides.
I wouldn't undertake that quest,
If in ta-teera, I'd be dressed.
Even for the simple life,
Away from Earthly sick and strife,
I will not trade my freedom dear
I'd rather make a life right here!
